‘Bridgerton’ Live: Here’s How You Can Get Tickets to ‘The Queen’s Ball’ Before They’re Gone
If you’re upset about the Duke of Hastings’ exit from “Bridgerton,” here’s a chance to write your own royal story, at least for one night. “The Queen’s Ball: A Bridgerton Experience,” is an immersive, Regency-era ball featuring music inspired by the “Bridgerton” soundtrack. The event won’t be taking place until next March, but tickets went on sale on Thursday.
“The Queen’s Ball: A Bridgerton Experience” will take place at different cities around the country, including a “secret ballroom in Los Angeles,” as well as events in Chicago, Montreal, and Washington, D.C. The 90-minute ball will feature a dance show and interactive experiences, along with a string quartet, and acrobatic performers (between the decor to the entertainment, you might just end up feeling like you’ve been transported back in time).
You have to be 21 and older to get into “The Queen’s Ball” (cocktails and other alcoholic beverages will be served during the event), and even though there’s more than enough time to practice your curtsey and waltz, you might want to reserve tickets now — just in case these events sell out (tickets are moving fast).
The show is set in London during the early 1800s, and follows an esteemed family as they tackle love, lust, and betrayal. The story itself mainly centers around a steamy love affair of two main characters, Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon Basset (Regé-Jean Page).
For those who don’t know, “Bridgerton” was originally a book series by Julia Quinn (to learn more about “Bridgerton,” check out the books that inspired the series) that Shonda Rhimes adapted into a Netflix show. “Bridgerton” debuted on the streaming platform last Christmas and within a month, the series shattered Netflix records with 82 million household views. Although “Bridgerton” has been greenlit for a second season, it’s unclear when it will premiere. In January, Quinn spoke with IndieWire about the spike in book sales brought on by the show, and how it feels to receive so much praise years after the novels were first released. “I’ve never had more than one book at a time on [The New York Times list] and right now there are three,” said Quinn. “Two of those books came out 21 years ago. And ‘The Duke and I’ actually is now two weeks at No. 1 — which is also new for me. I’ve hit No. 1 before once, but with romance, usually you hit high and then you fade fast. So that’s also new.”
As if the Queen’s Ball, novels, and a second season weren’t enough to keep you entertained, there’s also a “Bridgerton” spin-off in the works at Netflix. Rhimes will be writing the series, which will center around the life of a young Queen Charlotte. As of now, there is no official title for the show, but viewers can expect to see younger versions of both Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh) and Lady Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell).
