Alex Ross Perry's 'Golden Exits' Cast Announced: Jason Schwartzman, Emily Browning & More Lead Indie Drama

Alex Ross Perry is a busy guy. The prolific filmmaker and proponent of shooting on film, who won raves for “The Color Wheel” before raising his profile further with “Listen Up Philip” and “Queen of Earth,” is currently at work writing the script for Disney’s live-action “Winnie the Pooh” film and optioned the rights to Don DeLillo’s novel “The Names” last year. As if that weren’t enough, the title and cast have now been revealed for his next feature, “Golden Exits.”

Per Deadline, the film will be led by Emily Browning, Adam Horovitz, Mary Louise Parker, Lily Rabe, Jason Schwartzman, Chloë Sevigny and Analeigh Tipton. This marks the second collaboration between the writer/director and Schwartzman, who played the title character in “Philip.” The project also reunites Perry with producers Adam Piotrowicz, Joe Swanberg and Christos Konstantakopouos, who likewise had producing credits on “Queen of Earth.”

Deadline describes “Golden Exits” as “an intersectional narrative of two families in Brooklyn and the unraveling of unspoken unhappiness that occurs when a young foreign girl spending time abroad upsets the balance on both sides.” Production wraps in New York this week and, if Perry’s last two films are an indication — “Philip” debuted at Sundance in 2014, “Queen of Earth” in Berlin last year — a festival premiere is likely.
