Annapurna Pictures has released the trailer for “Sorry to Bother You,” one of the most buzzed-about titles at Sundance this year. Lakeith Stanfield, Armie Hammer, and Tessa Thompson star in the film, which marks rapper/producer Boots Riley’s directorial debut and stars Stanfield as a black telemarketer who puts on a white accent in order to be more successful at his job. Watch the trailer below.

Here’s a brief synopsis: “In a dystopian not-too-distant future, black telemarketer Cassius Green discovers a magical key to professional success and is propelled into a macabre universe.” Reviewing the movie at Sundance, IndieWire’s Eric Kohn wrote, “Landing a year after ‘Get Out assaulted race relations on a more intimate scale, ‘Sorry to Bother You’ fits with the zeitgeist. Like that movie, it foregrounds a series of ludicrous developments based around the challenges facing African Americans in a white-dominated consumer society, and leaves you with the impression that even the most ridiculous moments contain some tidbits of truth.”

Steven Yeun, Jermaine Fowler, Omari Hardwick, Terry Crews, Patton Oswalt, David Cross, and Danny Glover round out the ensemble cast. Annapurna will release “Sorry to Bother You” in theaters on July 6.
