‘Braindead’ Trailer: Mary Elizabeth Winstead Leads Insane New CBS Political Comedy From ‘Good Wife’ Team
In just ten short days, CBS’ beloved legal drama “The Good Wife” will air its final episode and end its seven-season run. But if you’re looking for more drama from the series’ creative team, you’ll only have to wait a few short months to get it. “The Good Wife” creators Robert and Michelle King have a new comedic political thriller called “BrainDead,” about politicians possessed by parasitic bugs. The series stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead (“10 Cloverfield Lane,” “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World”) as Laurel, a young Hill staffer starting her first job in D.C. and discovers that the government has stopped working and that alien spawn have come to Earth and are feeding on the brains of Congressmen and other federal employees. Winstead first came to prominence in horror films like “The Ring Two,” “Final Destination 3,” and “Black Christmas,” but garnered more attention for her roles in such diverse films like Edgar Wright’s “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World,” James Ponsoldt’s “Smashed” and “The Spectacular Now,” as well as the recent J.J. Abrams-produced thriller “10 Cloverfield Lane.” Meanwhile, Robert and Michelle King first burst onto the television scene with their short-lived police procedural “In Justice,” which only lasted 13 episodes, before moving on to the more successful “The Good Wife” just a few years later.
“BrainDead” also stars Tony Shalhoub (“Monk,” “Barton Fink”), Aaron Tveit (“Gossip Girl,” “Premium Rush”), Nikki M. James (“The Book of Mormon,” “Les Misérables”), Johnny Ray Gill (“Rectify”), and Danny Pino (“Cold Case,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”). It’s set to premiere on CBS on Monday, June 13th at 10pm Eastern time.
