Amy Schumer is becoming a Barbie girl in the Barbie world for her next feature film. Per Variety, the actress and comedian is in talks to star in a live-action “Barbie” movie for Sony.

Reminiscent of films like “Splash,” “Enchanted” and “Big,” the story follows Barbie Schumer after she gets kicked out of Barbieland for not being perfect enough and fitting the mold. She then lands in the real world and goes on a life-changing adventure.

The original idea and screenplay was written by Hilary Winston, but Schumer and her sister, Kim Caramele, will rewrite the script. Producers for the film are Walter F. Parkes, Laurie MacDonald and Amy Pascal, with Lauren Abrahams overseeing for Sony Pictures. Parkes and MacDonald initiated the original deal with Mattel in 2014.

The studio’s next step is to lock in a director.

The “Trainwreck” star has always been very vocal about appreciating her body and not listening to internet trolls who shame her for her figure. She’s previously discussed the struggles she’s faced with being in the entertainment industry and being told to lose weight for a role, something she vowed never to do again. With Schumer on board, the “Barbie” movie will most likely tackle the unattainable standard of perfection and having a positive body image.

Schumer can next be seen in the Jason Hall film “Thank You for Your Service,” and is working with Goldie Hawn on an untitled comedy.

The “Barbie” film is slated for summer 2018.
