Watch: Ricky Gervais’ Lovable Misfit is Back For Final ‘Derek Special’ On Netflix

Ricky Gervais‘ “Derek” will return to Netflix on April 3 with “The Derek Special,” a final one-hour episode meant to wrap up the plot of the British series written, directed by, and starring Gervais. “Derek” follows Derek Noakes (Gervais), a sweet and socially awkward man who works at a retirement home and finds something to like about everyone. “Life is only interesting if you share it. If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together,” he says. Supporting characters include Kevin (David Earl), Derek’s roommate, and Hannah (Kerry Godliman), Derek’s closest friend.

For playing the the leading role of Derek with a swoop of greasy Justin Bieber bangs, Gervais was nominated for both an Emmy for Outstanding Actor and a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Comedy Series.

The “Derek Special” becomes available on Netflix Friday, April 3. Seasons 1 and 2 of “Derek” are currently streaming.
