Watch: ‘Fargo’ Season 2 Trailers Say ‘Okay Then’ to Ted Danson and Kirsten Dunst

Remember when “True Detective” was funny? Sure you do, and you’re just as likely to remember the dark-hearted laughs found in “Fargo” Season 1, as well. The two miniseries that took over 2014 both used humor to their advantage, breaking up dark tales with some much needed levity. While Nic Pizzolatto’s second season steered even harder into the blackness, Noah Hawley‘s follow-up season appears to be even lighter than before.

At least, that’s been the focus of FX‘s marketing push. While the previews haven’t shied away from the series’ grisly nature, they’ve also made sure fans know they’re not in store for a burdensome slog. Hmm. I wonder if the negative reaction to “True Detective” Season 2 has anything to do with that.
