Watch: Quidditch Finds Life After Harry Potter 'Mudbloods' Trailer

No, they don’t fly and there isn’t actually a snitch, but countless kids around the world do play a version of JK Rowling’s invented sport quidditch, with some rule changes to allow muggles to take part. That isn’t to say that they don’t hold onto broomsticks anyway.

The upcoming documentary “Mudbloods” by Farzad Sangari explores how quidditch went from high above Hogwarts to practice fields at colleges everywhere. Filmmakers joined the team from UCLA through their training — which includes sprinting while holding a broom under your crotch — all the way into the Quidditch World Cup in New York where they had a showdown against Viktor Krum and the Bulgarians. Not really.

Funded in part on Kickstarter, “Mudbloods” premiered at AFI Docs in June and is set to be released on-demand and in a limited theatrical run by Bond/360 this October. Check out the trailer below:
