Two de facto vigilante groups come up against the violent Mexican drug cartels in “Cartel Land,” a documentary directed by Matthew Heineman and executive-produced by Kathryn Bigelow.
The film picked up the Directing Award and the Special Jury Award for Cinematography for Documentaries at Sundance earlier this year. In an extended scene from the movie, an armed citizen group called the Autodefensas corners two cartel assassins who have murdered their loved ones.
“Cartel Land” is currently available on iTunes and through VOD. The clip is an iTunes Extra. Watch it above.
