Exclusive ‘Lady Dynamite’ Season 1 Poster Gets Inside Maria Bamford’s Head

A very different comedy show is arriving on Netflix later this month, one that isn’t afraid to tackle the difficult subject of mental illness.

Maria Bamford plays herself in the loosely autographical series “Lady Dynamite.” Teaming up with “Arrested Development” creator Mitch Hurwitz, Bamford plays a comedian/actor who has a mental breakdown and is subsequently diagnosed with Bipolar II. Although this seems like the premise for a drama series, the show is more satirical, with the same kind of humor fans loved on “Arrested Development.”
