The recently deceased filmmaker’s last cinematic outing is a slow, intimate look at Akerman’s last days with her mother. Akerman brings a unique and stunning style of documentary filmmaking to the picture that shows just how versatile the director really was and her uncanny ability to find the profound in the seemingly everyday. It may be too slow moving and experimental for some audiences, but there is no denying the love and care that was clearly put into this production.
“No Home Movie” is coming to theaters on April 1. Watch the trailer above.
