Netflix Reveals 10 Movies Viewers Find Too Scary to Finish

Everyone wants to watch a scary movie until they’re actually watching one. Forbes has a list of 10 movies that Netflix says many users find too scary to finish, from recent favorites (“Raw“) to infamous gross-outs (“The Human Centipede 2: Full Sequence”), as well as the underlying methodology: Only movies that viewers made it most of the way through were included. Here’s the full list:

  • “Cabin Fever” (2016)
  • “Carnage Park”
  • The Conjuring
  • “The Human Centipede 2: Full Sequence”
  • “Jeruzalem”
  • “México Bárbaro”
  • “Piranha” (2010)
  • “Raw”
  • “Teeth”
  • “The Void”

To distinguish between movies that people turned off because they were too scary and those that viewers simply didn’t like, Netflix only included films that users watched 70% of — “if most people truly hate a movie,” their logic goes, “they’ll turn it off well before that.” Even so, the highly negative reception of films like “The Human Centipede 2: Full Sequence” and the “Cabin Fever” remake suggest that some people may have just been too bored or disgusted to continue.
