Back for its 14th year, the Tribeca Film Institute has announced that the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival will take place from April 15-26. Founded in 2001 by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff to celebrate film and culture in Lower Manhattan, the Tribeca Film Festival has screened more than 1,600 films for its more than 4.9 million attendees in its history.

Today, the festival also announces the submission dates for narrative features, documentaries, short films and transmedia projects. The 2015 Festival will feature Storyscapes, Tribeca’s celebrated transmedia section, the Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Festival and the second edition of Tribeca Innovation Week. Also announced was the promotion of Genna Terranova to Festival Director and Cara Cusumano to Senior Programmer. Questions regarding submissions may be directed to entries@tribecafilmfestival.org. Call for submission dates for all U.S. and international entries can be found below:

September 15: SUBMISSIONS OPEN for all projects

October 17: EARLY DEADLINE for feature and short films

November 26: OFFICIAL DEADLINE for all  projects

December 24: LATE DEADLINE for feature length world-premieres only

Bundled with the announcement was  a video with tips from Oscar-winning filmmaker Ron Howard, including that he does his best work when all four of the voices in his head are in harmony, and if his feet are as uncomfortable as possible. You’re going to want to check this out for yourself.
