Here’s your daily dose of an indie film in progress — at the end of the week, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favorite.

In the meantime: Is this a movie you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.

The Power of Glove

Tweetable Logline: A documentary about the history, legacy and afterlife of the POWER GLOVE: the world’s most notorious video game controller.

Elevator Pitch: “The Power of Glove” chronicles the history and legacy of the Power Glove, a 1989 Nintendo controller that promised to change the way humankind interacted with technology. The first of its kind, the Power Glove was designed by an eclectic team of hard-working dreamers and its marketing hype was immense. Immediately after its release, however, gamers were disappointed by the Glove, and critics panned it as a worthless gimmick. Despite this, the Power Glove has found an afterlife through a small legion of fans, become the focus of art pieces, songs, videos, hacking projects, and other forms of cultural repurposing.

Production Team:
Andrew Austin – Director
Adam Ward – Director
Paula Kosowski – Co-Director

About the film: The film has been in production for over a year (entirely self-financed), and we’ve been interviewing subjects all across the USA. We all met as graduate students in Documentary Film at Wake Forest University, and our passion for filmmaking is only equaled by our love for retro gaming. We’re thrilled that we’ve been able to combine those passions in “The Power of Glove.”

Current Status: In production, fundraising on Kickstarter!
