Euroean Film Promotion (EFP) has named ten young actors to its 14th annual list of the continent’s rising stars. This year’s ten finalists were chosen from a list of 25 candidates chosen by the member organizations of the EFP. A jury of European industry professionals chose the finalists from the list of twenty-five. Past winners of the Shooting Star honor have been Daniel Brühl, Daniel Craig, Carey Mulligan, Franka Potente, and Rachel Weisz. The group of ten will be placed in the spotlight at this year’s Berlin International Film Festival, which runs from February 10-20. The festival and EFP will place the spotlight on the honorees during the Shooting Stars showcase February 12-14.

The 2011 Shooting Star honorees are:

Andrea Riseborough (“Brighton Rock”; UK)

Nik Xhelilaj (“The Albanian”; Albania)

Marija Skaričić (“Mother of Asphalt”; Croatia)

Alexander Fehling (“Goethe!”; Germany)

Natasha Petrovic (“As If I Am Not There”; F. Y. Rep. of Macedonia)

Domhnall Gleeson (“True Grit”; Ireland)

Alicia Vikander (“Pure”; Sweden)

Clara Lago (“Bunker”; Spain)

Sylvia Hoeks (“Tirza”; The Netherlands)

Pilou Asbæk (“R”; Denmark)
