After earning 17 prizes for Best Picture this awards season and the prestigious Best Ensemble honor at this year’s Screen Actors Guild Awards, “Spotlight” is heading into the final lap of the Oscar race in a neck-and-neck three-way sprint with “The Big Short” and “The Revenant.”
Starring Michael Keaton opposite Liev Schreiber, John Slattery, Stanley Tucci, Brian d’Arcy James, Billy Crudup and Oscar nominees Mark Ruffalo and Rachel McAdams, “Spotlight” tells the riveting true story of the Pulitzer Prize-winning Boston Globe investigation into charges of sexual abuse within the Catholic Church. Critics have been praising the film all season long, and the new trailer above further proves just how gripping and inspiring the feature is.
“Spotlight” is now playing in theaters nationwide. The Academy Awards take place Sunday, February 28.
