Zachary Quinto will be ready to reprise his role as Spock whenever a new “Star Trek” movie gears up for production, but the actor tells Entertainment Tonight not to expect a new “Trek” any time in the immediate future. Quinto confirmed reports that Quentin Tarantino is behind a prospective third “Stark Trek” sequel, although the actor reveals it’s not exactly a done deal.

According to Quinto, Paramount currently has three different scripts in development for the next “Stark Trek” movie, which would find Quinto and co-stars Chris Pine and Zoe Saldana reprising their “Trek” roles for a fourth time on the big screen. The group last starred in 2016’s “Star Trek Beyond,” directed by Justin Lin.

“I feel like we are in a state of anticipation,” Quinto said about the next “Trek.” “All of us are really excited about the idea of working with Quentin on a ‘Trek’ film, but I know Simon Pegg and Doug Jung are writing a script and there are another set of writers writing a script. So I don’t know. I don’t know what’s going to happen.”

The Wrap reports that “Star Beyond Team” Pegg and Jung are in fact writing a potential script, as are Patrick McKay and J.D. Payne. The latter pairing wrote the initial draft for “Beyond,” before Pegg and Jung came on board to give the script a final polish. McKay and Payne were announced as screenwriters for the next “Trek” in 2016. Early rumors suggested the plot centered on Pine’s Captain Kirk teaming up with his father, played by Chris Hemsworth.

Paramount confirms to IndieWire three different scripts are being developed for the next “Star Trek” film. “The Revenant” screenwriter Mark L. Smith is penning Tarantino’s script as the director gears up production on his ninth feature, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
