Margot Robbie has released the official first look at herself in character as Sharon Tate from Quentin Tarantino‘s “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.” Robbie is starring opposite Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio in the film and is taking on the role of the American actress and model who was murdered at age 26 by the Manson Family on August 9, 1969.

“Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” stars DiCaprio and Pitt as a famous television actor and his stuntman, respectively, who are trying to make a dent in the Hollywood film world in 1969. Details about the plot are being kept under wraps by Sony, although it is known the two characters live next door to Sharon Tate. Tate’s home is where she was murdered along with three friends and an 18-year-old visitor. Tate was eight and a half months pregnant at the time of her death.

“As long as I can remember, I’ve been a huge Tarantino fan,” Robbie told IndieWire in May about accepting the part. “I feel a responsibility with every character I play, whether they’re fictional or real life.To play her right, play her truthfully, and kind of understand her emotional journey.”

Check out our first look at Robbie in character in the photo below. Sony will release “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” on July 26, 2019.
