The Late Show with Stephen Colbert
"The Late Show with Stephen Colbert"

Last week at the Republican National Convention, Stephen Colbert attended the event and brought to life a clever bit called The Hungry for Power Games, inspired by the popular YA book and film series “The Hunger Games.” Dressed like host Caesar Flickerman, Colbert walked around the convention floor armed with a fake weasel in his hand and proceeded to address the convention from the main stage.

Well, Colbert tried to pull off the same trick at Democratic National Convention last night and had a much harder time trying to get past security. Though he spends some time cracking wise about the political infighting and the email scandal, but the highlight is when he frequently tries to sneak past the guards to get on stage. Colbert even called his friend Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi to help throw her weight around at the convention, but to no avail. However, Colbert eventually succeeds by distracting the security with a selfie stick and he makes it on stage to say “God bless America!” and to tell everyone to “have a great week!”

This latest bit comes on the heels of Colbert resurrecting his old “Colbert Report” persona, as well as bringing Jon Stewart back to TV to talk about the election.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” airs weeknights at 11:35 pm Eastern only on CBS.
