Project of the Day: 'Slow Creep'

Here’s your daily dose of an indie film in progress — at the end of the week, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favorite.

In the meantime: Is this a movie you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.

Slow Creep

Tweetable Logline: Otter is stoked to finally find a rare horror film, but when she brings it home to her brother and friend, she also brings the Slow Creep.

Elevator Pitch: Fifteen-year-old Otter has finally found a VHS copy of a horror film she and her brother have been looking for forever, but her brother seems more interested in kissin’ on a friend. On top of that, when she starts the tape she summons the Slow Creep: a horrible, drippy, shambling mess of a monster.

Production Team:
Writer / Director – Jim Hickox
Natalie Shea – Producer
Makena Buchanan – Producer
Cinematographer: Tom Rosenberg

About the film: “Slow Creep” is the third film in a trilogy of short horror films I’m writing/directing, and it’s the fourth short I’ve directed. Of the four, it’s the first to really delve into human moments, emotions, and sadnesses. I’ve always felt comfortable creating a piece that lives in a style and encompasses an attitude, and I’m still doing that here, but I’m also dealing with a coming-of-age story; a brother growing up and leaving his sister behind. But also everyone is getting murdered by a monster.
