The Muppets Team Up With Top YouTube Talent For Celebratory Videos

Celebrate the Muppets legacy with a series of brand new Muppetastic videos: The Muppets Studio and YouTube Space LA have teamed up to give fans all-new content featuring the beloved gang, and maybe even make new fans in the process.

“With YouTube and the Muppets – anything goes and you never know what’s going to happen next,” said Kermit the Frog in a statement. “It’s a perfect match! We’re excited to work with all their amazing talent and we’re eager to prove that you do not have to be a cat to make great videos. Pigs, frogs and bears can make them too!”

Some of YouTube’s biggest stars came on board for the project: The talent includes violinist Lindsey Stirling, a cappella performer Mike Tompkins and educational channel CrashCourse. The videos they created with the Muppets will premiere on the Muppets’ official YouTube channel as well as on their own channels.

“The Muppets have been entertaining and inspiring YouTube audiences for several years and we are thrilled to re-engage current fans while capturing new ones through these exciting collaborations,” said Muppets Studio Vice President Debbie McClellan. “We really enjoyed our residency at YouTube Space LA and look forward to many future projects together.”

The Muppet mayhem will continue with videos being uploaded through June. A cappella artist Mike Tompkins and Mental Floss’ videos premiered today — you can watch Tompkins and the Muppets perform Echosmith’s “The Cool Kids” above.
