Project of the Day: 'Revoltoso'

Here’s your daily dose of an indie film in progress; at the end of the week, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favorite.

In the meantime: Is this a movie you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.

Revoltoso

Tweetable Logline: A stop-motion short film about a boar that discovers cinema in the midst of a revolution. The look and feel is inspired in Cubism.

Elevator Pitch: The story is about Jabalito, a little wild boar who lives in an Hacienda during the Mexican Revolution (1910) one of the first armed conflicts ever filmed. The looks of the film are inspired in Cubism. Cubist artists were inspired by the way cinema portraits space and time. We think it is a tribute to cinema itself. We have been doing everything by ourselves and have proudly reached the point where the work speaks for itself, so we’ve decided to ask for help to the community and launch our Kickstarter campaign.

Production Team:
Vonno A. Ambriz – Director
Roy Ambriz – Director / Animator
Paco Espinal – Producer
Daniel Bolaños – Producer
Adriana Rendón – Producer
Irene Melis – Cinematographer
Ricardo Córdoba – Animator
Beto Petiches – Animator

About the film: Films give us the opportunity to create unique universes in which we can communicate our own ideas and points of view. We are making this project to express our stand against violence. The film is about someone who takes the decision to dedicate his life to art. For this project, we decided to never use green screen, nor CGI composites or add elements in post-production, only allowing ourselves to erase the rigs used for character support. Solving every visual challenge without a computer has been one of our biggest obstacles, but perhaps the most rewarding one.

Current Status: Production.
