‘Marvel’s Iron Fist’ Trailer Revealed, As Sigourney Weaver Joins ‘Marvel’s The Defenders’

“Iron Fist,” the fourth series in Netflix‘s Marvel collection, doesn’t premiere until next spring – but we’ve got a new look at billionaire Danny Rand (Finn Jones) and crew.

The show, which follows Rand’s return to New York after being missing for years and presumed dead, premieres Friday, March 17 2017 at 12:01am PT. The series also stars Jessica Henwick (“Game of Thrones”), David Wenham (“The Lord of the Rings”), Jessica Stroup (“90210”), and Tom Pelphrey (“Guiding Light”).

In “Iron Fist,” Rand tries to reconnect with his past and family legacy, but soon is forced to use his kung-fu mastery and summon the power of the Iron Fist to defeat a rising enemy in the city. Here’s the show’s latest trailer, as premiered Saturday night at New York Comic-Con:

Also at NY Comic-Con, Marvel brought together the stars of its mondo series “Marvel’s The Defenders.” Included on stage for the first time: Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil) from “Marvel’s Daredevil,” Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones) from “Marvel’s Jessica Jones” and Mike Colter (Luke Cage) from “Marvel’s Luke Cage,” all of whom joined Finn Jones (Danny Rand) from “Marvel’s Iron Fist.”

Also on stage: Sigourney Weaver, who will play an as-yet unspecified role in “Marvel’s The Defenders.”

“Marvel is honored to have an actress of her caliber and status join what is already our biggest show ever,” said Jeph Loeb, Executive Producer and Head of Marvel Television, who moderated the Marvel panel. “She is by definition a class act.”

Other surprise guests included Erik LaRay Harvey, who plays Willis Stryker, aka Diamondback, in “Luke Cage.”

And Jon Bernthal, who will star as Frank Castle/The Punisher in Netflix’s “Marvel’s The Punisher,” announced that Deborah Ann Woll will join the show as Karen Page, first seen in “Marvel’s Daredevil.”
