Starring Salma Hayek in the title role, “Everly” is a genre action film about a former Yakuza prostitute-informant who has dozens upon dozens of assassins descend upon her Los Angeles apartment. As she struggles to save her estranged mother and daughter, she blows away gangsters with machine guns in this simple-yet-satisfying (and progressive) take on the classic action flick.
