The Parr family only gets better with age. Fourteen years after “The Incredibles” became a smash hit with over $600 million worldwide, Pixar is finally bringing the Parr family back to the big screen. The sequel is directed by original writer-director Brad Bird, who’s returning to the world of animation after “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol” and “Tomorrowland.” Bird also directed “The Iron Giant” and Pixar’s “Ratatouille.”

“Incredibles 2” does “Wonder Woman” proud by letting matriarch Helen (Holly Hunter) step into the butt-kicking spotlight. The plot picks up with the Parr family as Helen takes on a job leading a new campaign to introduce superheroes back into the world, while Bob (Craig T. Nelson) stays home to take care of the family’s domestic responsibilities. It’s not long before a new threat forces the entire family out of the home to save the world.

The film’s explosive new official trailer makes it clear “Incredibles 2” won’t be short on action set pieces. The clip even introduces what looks to be the film’s main villain, who uses computer and television screens to hypnotize the public. Samuel L. Jackson’s Frozone also appears.

“Incredibles 2” will be released nationwide June 15. Watch the official trailer below.
