After a limited theatrical run last month at Los Angeles’ Arena Cinema, John Mitchell and Christina Zeidler’s “Portrait of a Serial Monogamist” is hitting DVD and VOD platforms today, February 9, and Indiewire is celebrating with an exclusive clip from the LGBT romantic-comedy, which shows off the film’s breaking-the-fourth-wall narration and witty jokes.
The movie centers around Elsie (Diane Flacks), a strong, charming and successful woman who has made a name for herself not only from her success as a Toronto TV producer, but also from being a self-proclaimed monogamist who seems to have had sex with everything that moves in town. Seeing as her relentless pattern of breaking hearts has no end, her friends boldly challenge Elsie to stay single for five months. But when the vivacious DJ Lolli stumbles her way into Elsie’s life, she’s faced with dilemma after dilemma while trying to navigate this ill-timed bet.
Check out the exclusive clip above.
