Ilana Glazer, Kate McKinnon, and Jillian Bell Join Scarlett Johansson Sony Comedy From 'Broad City' Veterans

Today, a certain R-Rated Sony Comedy gains a host of comedienne talent. Ilana Glazer (“Broad City“), Kate McKinnon (“Saturday Night Live,” “Ghostbusters”), and Jillian Bell (“Idiotsitter,” “The Night Before”) have joined the film currently titled “Rock That Body,” which currently stars Scarlett Johansson (“Lost In Translation,” “Lucy”) and Zoe Kravitz (“Mad Max: Fury Road,” “Dope”). The film follows five friends who head to a beach house in Miami for a crazy bachelorette party that goes completely and totally off the rails.

“Rock That Body” features plenty of behind-the-scenes talent from the popular Comedy Central series “Broad City.” The film will be directed by frequent “Broad City” director Lucia Aniello, and a script written by Aniello and “Broad City” writer and actor Paul W. Downs. The script was voted to the 2015 Black List. Aniello also directed and co-wrote all three episodes of “Time Traveling Bong,” a Comedy Central miniseries starring Glazer and Downs.

Scarlett Johansson has appeared in two movies in 2016, The Coen Brothers’ “Hail, Caesar!” and Jon Favreau’s “The Jungle Book,” and is set to appear in two more, the Russo Brothers’ “Captain America: Civil War” to be released on May 6th and Garth Jennings’ computer-animated musical “Sing” to be released on December 21st.

“Rock That Body” will start production in August and will be released sometime in 2017.
