Last week the 2015 Cannes Film Festival revealed its first official selection: George Miller‘s “Mad Max: Fury Road” in an out of competition slot. Today Warner Bros. unveiled a glorious new full-trailer for the action extravaganza. It’s a totally bonkers delight, sure to amp up anticipation even higher for Miller’s long-awaited return to the franchise.
Starring Tom Hardy in a role originated by Mel Gibson, “Mad Max: Fury Road” is set in a post-apocalyptic world in which gas and water have become scarce resources. Usually a loner, Max Rockatansky (Hardy) joins Empress Furiosa (Charlize Theron) as she and her all-female band try to escape a savage warlord.
