Every day, indieWIRE will scour the internet looking for an online video we think our audience will appreciate. From artistic videos making their rounds on Vimeo and Youtube to online tutorials, we’re committed to making sure filmmakers, industry, and fans find the online videos that most suit them.

Those looking for something a bit cerebral to add to their Netflix queue should look no further than “Example Short 23.976,” its near identical sequel “Example Short 24,” and its various looped iterations all available for viewing on Netflix’s instant viewing.

Comparing the odd series of what seems to be stock video footage to Amazon’s cult favorite “Three Wolf Moon Tee Shirt” page, Rhizome’s Jacob Gaboury fawns over the video’s user-submitted rating and describes the film with the following: “The short film also includes a series of strange, non sequitur scenes featuring a hand running through a fountain, a toy train set running on a loop, a man moonwalking while holding a laptop, the same man running erratically between trees, and finally the man reciting Marullus’ speech from Act I, Scene I of Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar before shifting to a series of popping and clicking mouth noises. The film ends with a blinking white dot and a series of gridded test patterns.” He goes on to say, “The films can be difficult to find using the Netflix site, but each version of the movie has its own page and is open to view and review.”

The video (and some of the reviews Gaboury compiled) are worth at least a bored-at-work look.
