Ahead of its theatrical release at the end of the summer, Indiewire is pleased to premiere the poster for “Afternoon Delight.” The film, which bowed at Sundance back in January where it won Best Director for Jill Soloway, stars Kathryn Hahn as Rachel, a thirty-something stay-at-home mom who impulsively decides to visit a strip club to spice up her marriage. After getting a private dance from McKenna (Juno Temple), Rachel takes an interest in the girl, going on to hire McKenna as a live-in nanny.
The poster amusingly juxtaposes Rachel’s mundane household life with the more lurid aspects of McKenna’s profession, as it has Rachel and her husband (played by Josh Radnor) sitting on a couch, illustrated in silhouette by bright phosphorescent colors, suggesting that their two worlds collide in a plethora of interesting and comical ways.
The
Film Arcade will be releasing the film theatrically on August 30 with Cinedigm handling ancillary distribution a few months later. See the poster below, and check out an interview with the cast discussing the film at Sundance here.
