Halt and Catch Fire
"Halt and Catch Fire"
AMC

AMC may have its hands full with such popular shows like “The Walking Dead,” “Better Call Saul,” and most recently, the comic-book smash “Preacher,” but there’s one show in its arsenal that stands as the underdog of the bunch. The series in question? “Halt and Catch Fire,” the ’80s period drama about the personal computer revolution in Silicon Prairie of Texas. The series stars Lee Pace (“Pushing Daisies”), Scoot McNairy (“Argo”), Mackenzie Davis (“The Martian”), Kerry Bishé (“Scrubs”), Toby Huss (“Carnivàle”), and Aleksa Palladino (“Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead”). The series is created by Christopher Cantwell and Christopher C. Rogers. Jonathan Lisco served as the series’ showrunner for its first two seasons. Lisco previously wrote for “NYPD Blue” and “The District.” Lisco later created the Fox drama “K-Ville” about police in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina; it was later cancelled after one season. He was then an executive producer and writer on “Southlands,” a crime drama about the LAPD. He currently is the creator and executive producer of TNT’s “Animal Kingdom,” about a dangerous criminal family inspired by the 2010 film of the same name.

“Halt and Catch Fire” will return on August 23rd with a two-hour premiere event on AMC.
