'Funny Or Die' and Los Angeles Film Festival Launch Comedy Talent Competition

Anyone who thinks they’ve got a future in being funny will appreciate the latest offering from revered comedy website Funny Or Die,” which, in association with the Los Angeles Film Festival, is now providing a great opportunity for aspiring comedians by setting up an internet talent search called “Make ’em LAFF.”

The
competition is designed for minorities and people from underrepresented communities (i.e. artists of
color, women and/or LGBT) who specialize in comedic content that can range from short
films and webisodes to animation and music videos.
The winner of the competition will receive a cash prize and a talent hold deal that will have them presented across the Fox entertainment businesses, along with the benefit of seeing their next video produced by Funny or Die.”

with the help of “Funny Or Die,” we’re trying to connect the dots,”
says Stephanie
Allain, Los Angeles Film Festival Director. “
This is a chance to be seen and heard. So make us laugh.
The jury of the “Make ’em LAFF” contest consists of Funny Or Die” founder Chris Henchy, writer/producer/director
Issa Rae (Awkward Black Girl)
and comedian Hannibal Buress.
