‘Hell or High Water’ Trailer: Chris Pine and Ben Foster Risk It All To Save What’s Important
A new trailer for the David Mackenzie-directed film “Hell or High Water” has just been released. The modern-day western premiered at the Un Certain Regrad section at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
The drama follows brothers Toby (Chris Pine), a recently divorced single father, and Tanner (Ben Foster), an ex-con, who create a scheme to save their family’s farm. Their first heist includes robbing a bank in order to get the money they need.
The movie also features Jeff Bridges as an “almost retired” Texas ranger, Gil Birmingham and Katy Mixon. The script hails from “Sicario” scribe Taylor Sheridan.
In our IndieWire review, Eric Kohn described the duo as unstoppable and wrote that the film, “delivers a fantastic set of showdowns, from cars streaking down the highways to bullets flying through the close quarters of a bank.” He added that, “Just as it taps into a dying corner of American society, ‘Hell or High Water’ resurrects the power of western mayhem done right.”
“Hell or High Water” arrives in theaters on August 12.
