Today, Tatiana Maslany is an Emmy Award nominated actress set to enter the fourth season in the starring role of the hit show “Orphan Black.” But as all actors have experienced at some point in their career, there was a point when she was struggling to find work. In this exclusive video from “Off Camera with Sam Jones,” Maslany sits down to talk about the importance of fully committing to an audition, even if you’re not sure where that audition is going to lead.

The actress also discusses her difficulties trying to fit into a traditional social experience in school while also being busy on film sets — sometimes going away for months at a time on a shoot. “I didn’t go to parties,” Maslany admits, “I had no interest in that stuff.” Instead the actress shares fond memories of 17-hour shooting days and being on the improv team.

Watch Maslany in “Orphan Black,” returning for a new season in 2016.
