Let Me In,” Matt Reeve’s remake of the Swedish vampire hit “Let the Right One In,” will have its U.S. premiere at Fantastic Fest on Sept. 23 in Austin, festival organizers just announced.

“Let Me In” stars Chloe Moretz (“Kick Ass”), Kodi Smit-McPhee (“The Road”), Elias Koteas (“Shutter Island”) and Richard Jenkins (“The Visitor”), and follows the plot of Tomas Alfredson’s “Let the Right One In,” but moves the action to the American Southwest (New Mexico). Both films are based on the bestselling novel “Låt den rätte komma in,” by John Ajvide Lindqvist.

“Fantastic Fest has been following the development of this movie with rabid interest and we couldn’t be more excited to share what Matt Reeves has up his sleeve in adapting this incredible story. We anticipate that this will solidify his place as a visionary genre artist,” said Fantastic Fest co-founder Tim League in a statement.

The Toronto International Film Festival also announced today that it was adding “Let Me In” to its slate.
