Stephen King is everywhere. On the heels of what is sure to be the blockbuster success of “It” in theaters, the legendary author’s work next comes to Netflix with the adaptation of “Gerald’s Game.” The movie has a debut trailer, and it sends a wife’s idyllic vacation straight to hell thanks to a pair of handcuffs.

Mike Flanagan, who has become a horror favorite after “Oculus,” “Ouija: Origin of Evil,” and “Hush,” is behind the camera as director and co-writer. The story centers on a marriage gone wrong after the wife is left handcuffed to her bed and forced to play a twisted game to survive. Think “Misery” with a wicked marital twist.

Carla Gugino stars as the wife, while Bruce Greenwood is husband. Netflix will be taking the movie to Fantastic Fest for its world premiere next month. “Gerald’s Game” will be available to stream starting September 29.
