Watch: Billy Crystal and Josh Gad Get Meta New FX Series 'The Comedians'

If co-stars that poop next to each other stay together, than FX‘s new half-hour comedy, “The Comedians,” should have no problem keeping a tight connection between leads Billy Crystal and Josh Gad. Although FX won’t premiere the series until 2015, the cable network is already gearing up the promo bandwagon with five quick clips teasing the behind-the-scenes chemistry between Crystal and Gad.

Marking Crystal’s first regular television series role since his days as Jodie Dallas on ABC’s “Soap” (1971-81), “The Comedians” stars the 66-year-old legend as a superstar comic who must join forces with an edgier young comic (Gad) to get a new late-night comedy sketch show up and running. Sound meta? It should, considering the pilot was co-written by Crystal and directed by Larry Charles (“Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Borat”). The comedy was picked-up for a 13-episode first season earlier this year.
