Mike Myers resurrected one of his most iconic characters during his April 4 appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” The comedian brought back “Austin Powers” villain Dr. Evil to comment on the current Trump administration. The bit envisioned Dr. Evil as one of Trump’s ex-cabinent members, and of course there were a lot of pinky-to-mouth gestures.
“Well naturally, I was going to be secretary of evil. But Steve Bannon got that job,” Meyers said in character. He later referred to Donald Trump Jr. as creepy, saying, “He looks like he’s missing a facial feature. You just don’t know which one.”
Myers also poked fun at Trump’s proposed wall on the Mexican-American border. The wall was originally Dr. Evil’s idea, although instead of a barrier structure he wanted to built a moat “filled with spiky blowfish.” Trump was adamant that Mexico would pay for the wall, but Dr. Evil had a different plan: “I didn’t want the Mexicans to play for it; I wanted Alec Baldwin to pay for it.”
Watch Meyers’ Dr. Evil sketch in the video below. The comedian returns to the big screen on May 11 in the Margot Robbie-led “Terminal.” He also is the host of ABC’s reboot of “The Gong Show.”
