The Film Society of Lincoln Center has announced there will be a sneak preview of “The Martian” on Sunday, September 27 at Alice Tully Hall as part of the 53rd New York Film Festival. Tickets are now on sale.
Directed by Ridley Scott, “The Martian” is adapted from the bestseller by Andy Weir and stars Matt Damon as astronaut/botanist Mark Watney, who is left behind on Mars after a deadly sandstorm cuts his NASA mission short. Jeff Daniels, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kate Mara, Kristen Wiig, Sean Bean, Donald Glover and Jessica Chastain co-star. The film received positive reviews at its world premiere at TIFF.
20th Century Fox will allow festival audiences to experience the film in RealD 3D. Check it out this Sunday if you’re in the New York area.
