Watch: ‘You’re the Worst’ Season 2 Offers a Different Take on Cohabitation (With Strip Clubs and Butt Stuff)

“You’re the Worst” was more than a pleasant surprise when it premiered last summer. It was a g.d. freshman sensation. By turning the romantic comedy genre on its end, the gleefully vulgar comedy made its mark by depicting a unique relationship successfully executed, despite its participants’ distaste for societal mandates. In other words, these two hated everyone and everything but each other, so they work.

But can Jimmy (Chris Geere) and Gretchen (Aya Cash) survive cohabitation? That’s what faces them in Season 2, and thus gets the trailer treatment in the minute-long spot above. Desperate to stay lively, the couple engage in a series of misadventures bound to keep us laughing even if it’s causing them pain (and it appears to be doing just that, given Jimmy’s back gash and Gretchen’s bloody nose).
