Kino Lorber Acquires Jafar Panahi's Berlin-Winning 'Taxi'

Kino Lorber has acquired the North American rights to distribute celebrated Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi‘s latest film, “Taxi,” which took home the Golden Bear and the FIPRESCI International Critics Prize at the Berlin International Film Festival.

The film’s official synopsis reads: “A yellow cab drives through the vibrant and colorful streets of Tehran, picking up a diverse group of passengers who each candidly express their opinions and worldview to the driver – none other than Panahi himself.  His camera placed on the dashboard of his mobile film studio, Panahi captures the spirit of Iranian society through this comedic and dramatic drive.”

Kino Lorber will release “Taxi” this fall.
