Guy Ritchie is looking to break into TV, and Endemol Shine Studios has snatched him up.
Ritchie and Lionel Wigram’s Ritchie/Wigram Productions has sealed an exclusive, multi-year deal with Endemol Shine to develop original scripted series. Ritchie plans to direct the projects, while both he and Wigram will write as well.
Endemol Shine North America co-CEO/Endemol Shine Americas co-chairman Charlie Corwin announced the deal Wednesday. It’s also the first development pact for Endemol Shine Studios under new president Sharon Hall.
“Guy and Lionel’s brand is undeniable for this new global marketplace,” Hall said. “We have already identified projects that extend that brand into TV with the same smarts and swagger they are well known for.”
Crackle is developing a TV take on Ritchie’s 2000 film “Snatch,” but the filmmaker is not believed to be involved in that adaptation.

Ritchie and Wigram, who worked together on the films “Sherlock Holmes” and “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows,” first formed their joint production company in 2011. The company’s first film, “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.,” was released last year. They’re also behind “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword,” set to me released next March.
Ritchie/Wigram execs Jeff Ludwig (based in L.A.) and Ivan Atkinson (based in London) will oversee the acquisition and development of projects for the company.
