The White House briefing room got a surprise visit from Allison Janney on Friday when the actress walked onto the podium as her character C.J. Cregg from “The West Wing.”

Janney greeted everyone as people started laughing wondering what she was doing there, “Hi, everyone. Good afternoon. I was going to tell you all to be seated, but I see you are already seated, so we can begin. Josh [Earnest] is out today. He has, I believe it’s a root canal,” she said referring  to the Season one episode where her character gets the procedure done.

“And second, it is Friday, which means at half past five, I will be performing ‘The Jackal’ in my office for anyone who is interested or remembers or cares,” Janney announced making yet again another “West Wing” reference.

The actress then revealed the real reason she was at the White House. She continued to discuss opioid addiction and whats had been done to combat the problem.
