Watch: ‘Selma’ Featurette Focuses on David Oyelowo and the Man Behind the Leader

David Oyelowo takes the spotlight in this behind-the-scenes clip from the upcoming “Selma” DVD and Blu-ray release. In the clip, director Ava DuVernay and the actor’s cast mates comment on Oyelowo’s transformation into the civil rights leader, Martin Luther King, Jr. 

“When I think about why there hasn’t been a feature film within the last 50 years with King as the protagonist, I can only say, I don’t know why. But I know it’s happening now and I know David was the one and it was meant to be,” said DuVernay. 

“Selma” will be released on DVD and Blu-ray May 5.
