The new trailer for “The Magnificent Seven” proves it was high time Denzel Washington and Chris Pratt starred in a movie together. Their on-screen chemistry in director Antoine Fuqua’s remake of John Sturges’ 1960 Western is palpable, and the movie looks like one hell of a ride.

Here’s the official synopsis: With the town of Rose Creek under the deadly control of industrialist Bartholomew Bogue (Peter Sarsgaard), the desperate townspeople employ protection from seven outlaws, bounty hunters, gamblers and hired guns – Sam Chisolm (Washington), Josh Farraday (Pratt), Goodnight Robicheaux (Ethan Hawke), Jack Horne (Vincent D’Onofrio), Billy Rocks (Byung-Hun Lee), Vasquez (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), and Red Harvest (Martin Sensmeier). As they prepare the town for the violent showdown that they know is coming, these seven mercenaries find themselves fighting for more than money.

While rap music and Westerns can make an odd pairing, the sexy, action-packed new trailer for “The Magnificent Seven” seems to fit perfectly with a hip-hop track from a yet-to-be-announced artist. The initial trailer featured Heavy Young Heathens’ cover of “House of the Rising Sun.”

The original “Magnificent Seven” was a Western remake of Akira Kurosawa’s 1954 Japanese-language movie “Seven Samurai.”

“The Magnificent Seven” hits theaters on September 23. Check out the new trailer below.
