Legendary Cinematographer Caleb Deschanel Receive Lifetime Achievement Award

The Camerimage International Film Festival, which celebrates achievement in cinematography, has decided to honor a legendary filmmaker for their 22nd annual festival — five-time Oscar nominee Caleb Deschanel.

Deschanel, who has worked in the industry for over four decades, has received Oscar nominations or “The Right Stuff,” “The Natural,” “Fly Away Home,” “The Patriot” and the “Passion of the Christ.” He was also a major influence in the creation of the Steadicam, an essential camera-stabilizing tool.

In addition to the award, Deschanel will present screenings of some of his films and will speak in a Q&A.

The 22nd Camerimage International Film Festival will take place in Bydgoszcz, Poland from November 15th-22nd.
