EXCLUSIVE: Philadelphia Film Festival Reveals Lineup, Open With 'Birdman'

The 23rd Philadelphia Film Festival has revealed its lineup for this year. The event will kick off with Alejandro González Iñárritu’s “Birdman” and close with Jean-Marc Vallée’s “Wild,” starring Reese Witherspoon. Other highlights include Lynn Shelton’s “Laggies,” Xavier Dolan’s “Mommy,” and Jean-Luc Godard’s 3D film “Goodbye to Language.”

“Beginning with our Opening Night screening of the highly acclaimed ‘Birdman’ through October 26th, our diverse collection of films, everything from prestigious world cinema hits to exciting new American indies will entertain, challenge and truly highlight some of the best cinema of the year,” said executive director J. Andrew Greenblatt in a statement. 

The Philadelphia Film Festival will take place from October 16 to October 26. For free tickets, register here at the festival’s site.
