‘Man Seeking Woman’ Renewed for Second Season by FXX
FXX has greenlit a second season for its high-concept comedy series “Man Seeking Woman.”
The sitcom follows Josh Greenberg (Jay Baruchel), a dorky 20-something embarking on a fantastical quest to find true love. His encounters range from basic one-night stands to blind dates with a (literal) troll.
“Man Seeking Woman” has fared well on the young FXX, which was established as an offshoot to FX in order to target younger viewers: Average viewership among 18-49 year-olds is 67 percent higher than FXX’s primetime average, and the median age of its viewers is 32. The comedy also earned strong reviews from critics out of its January premiere.
“Working on ‘Man Seeking Woman’ has been the creative highlight of my life,” showrunner Simon Rich said in a release. “FXX gave us the freedom to make the show we love and they let us build some truly disgusting monsters. I’m so grateful to John Landgraf and his team for believing in us and I can’t wait to get back to work.”
The renewal is for 10 episodes, which will air in 2016. The first season concludes on March 18.
