Robert De Niro‘s new boxing film “Hands Of Stone” has been added to this year’s Cannes Film Festival lineup, in tribute to the iconic actor. Written and directed by Jonathan Jakubowicz, the boxing drama stars Édgar Ramirez as Roberto Duran, the Panamanian boxer who made his debut at 16-years-old in 1968 and did not retire until age 50 in 2002. Duran is best well-known for defeating Sugar Ray Leonard (Raymond), capturing the WBC welterweight title. De Niro plays Duran’s trainer in the film. The Weinstein Company has U.S. rights to the movie and will release it on August 26. Usher Raymond, Ana de Armas, Ellen Barkin and John Turturro co-star.
