'Better Things' Teaser: Pamela Adlon Rings the 'Shame' Bell in FX Show

Much to the chagrin of pretty much everyone who’s ever watched it, “Louie” may never come back. That doesn’t mean that series creator/star Louis C.K. hasn’t been busy, of course — in addition to “Horace and Pete,” he’s also co-created a new show for FX. “Better Things” stars and was co-created by Pamela Adlon, familiar to “Louie” fans as the title character’s on-again, off-again flame. Check out a new teaser below.

“Game of Thrones” fans will instantly recognize the 30-second spot as a riff on on last year’s season finale, which made the shame bell an instant meme. Adlon, in line at a coffee shop, mutters “shame” every time someone walks in or out of the store and triggers the bell — to her amusement if not anyone else’s.

Adlon plays Sam, a divorced actor raising three daughters on her lonesome. Season one of “Better Things,” which will consist of 10 episodes, premieres September 8 on FX.
